Accessing Node.js from Twig templates in PHP applications

Node.js and PHP ecosystems are two very distinct software technologies. PHP developers often use JS build tools and Node.js developers consume mature REST APIs  from tools such as eZ Platform. In this overlapping world we need to keep bridging things together. Often the best solution is invisible to the end user.

One option for accessing HTML rendered by Node.js in JavaScript is to build an extension to allow JavaScript rendering directly from the Twig rendering engine in PHP applications using Node. There are other isomorphic rendering methods for PHP.
