Is LAMP still relevant?

The rise of JavaScript and people talking how PHP is like Java now make it sound like PHP is dead in the water. There is still a vibrant community innovating and pushing LAMP and PHP forward.

The fact is that LAMP remains relevant, but it is no longer as likely the first set of technologies people get started with. This might take the stack into a long decline, but on the other hand it’s a very stable system for businesses to build on in the 2010s and beyond.

LAMP will never be as universal as it was from 2000 to 2010, but the cake is also bigger nowadays.
